The following notice describes a change to the Speakerbus Support for Windows Server
2008 and SQL Server 2008 and the effect for existing customers.
Microsoft have ended support for Windows Server 2008 on the 14th January 2020 and for
SQL Server 2008 on 9th July 2019.
Speakerbus is ending support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 for all further
releases of the iCDS and iWS. The last versions of iCDS and iWS that support
Windows 2008 R2 are v2.310.2.0 (iCDS) and v2.100.4.0 (iWS).
Speakerbus is ending support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server
2008 R2 from iCMS version 4. Speakerbus will provide limited enhancement and technical
support for the iCMS for version 3 as described in the sunset policy below.
Speakerbus will continue to provide technical support for the SB 534 on Windows Server
2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2 for those customers with extended maintenance
agreements.
Support for the Voice Conference Manager installed on Windows Server 2008 and SQL
Server ended on 31st December 2019. For more information please refer to EOL Notice
036.
There will be a minimum of one additional release of iCMS to conclude functionality
committed to customers and to provide extended time to migrate to newer Microsoft Server
and SQL Server versions.
All subsequent remediation will require the implementation of later versions and iCMS 4.x.
Required Action
Customers wishing to continue using supported iCMS, iWS and iCDS updates must plan
to upgrade from Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 to a minimum of Windows
Server 2012 and SQL 2012.
