In Partnership with Speakerbus, Thuraya to Target Defence Sector at DSEi

With increasing solutions and products catering to the military and security requirements, Thuraya will be a major exhibitor at a key London defence show next week. The world leading mobile satellite operator will be showcasing several specialised products at the Defence Systems and Equipment International (DSEi 2009) jointly with Speakerbus, a UK based firm specialising in mission-critical voice systems.

At the event, which is taking place from the 8th to the 11th September, Thuraya will be showcasing its newly launched satellite only handheld Thuraya XT, which is the toughest satellite phone in the world. This innovative phone has been specifically designed to ensure the highest standards of reliability and robustness through its splash water resistant, dust and shock proof casing. The phone is ideal for the defence sector, which requires communications in a compact, resilient and tough device.

Thuraya will also be promoting its NettedComms solution in cooperation with Speakerbus. Thuraya NettedComms is a unique solution that integrates different communication technologies into a single closed user group, enabling users to communicate effectively. Designed for emergency situations, Thuraya NettedComms has attracted customers in several sectors who demand flexible communications.

Thuraya will also be marketing its recently launched ThurayaLease service which provides unlimited bandwidth (of multiples of 64 kbps) for major customers in need of high speed data anywhere in Thuraya’s 140-country coverage area.

During DSEi Speakerbus will be showcasing their range of endpoints over Thuraya’s Satellite network.  Highlights of the demo will include a sophisticated command and control IP endpoint called iTurret and a new ruggedized mobile endpoint capable of persistent VoIP running over an IP Satellite connection, called iSeries iM101.
